The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations came into force in November 2002, this legislation introduced the 'duty to manage' asbestos materials in non-domestic premises. A non-domestic premise also covers common areas including halls, stairwells, lift shafts and roof spaces. All organisations will have to legally comply.
