Q: Are Arco Environmental licensed contractors?

A: Yes we have obtained an asbestos license from the Health & Safety Executive. Arco has to follow strict guidelines and practices with regards to the recording, training & protecting employees, inspecting, removing and disposing of asbestos to obtain a license to remove asbestos. Arco Environmental have been licensed contractors for 25 years and are highly experienced in the commercial sector having worked with local councils, hospitals, NHS Trusts, building consultancies and other commercial clients.
Q: What trade organisations and quality assurance schemes are you accredited with?

A: Arco Environmental Ltd attained ISO 9002 accreditation in 1994 with the National Quality Assurance (NQA) and have been full members of Asbestos Removals Contractors Association (A.R.C.A) since 1983. We have also gained the Site Audit (ARCA) scheme 2004. Arco are fully insured at Lloyds and carry Public/Employer/Contractors risk and indemnity insurance. We have a 3 year licence issued by the Health and Safety Executive.
Q: What do I do if I suspect I have asbestos in my property?

Our highly experienced staff will offer helpful advice and a suggested course of action. We can also arrange a visit to the property and a sample to be taken, this will be analysed at a UKAS accredited laboratory. Upon receipt of the results of the sample you will receive an "Asbestos Fibre Identification Certificate" from the UKAS Lab. If the material needs removing we can advise you on best practice and we can provide a quotation of removal or survey (to gain a full risk assessment) on request. Q: Our garage has asbestos roof sheets, how much would it cost to remove and dispose of them?

Q: What Marine projects have you worked on?

A: Last year Arco Environmental were contracted to remove asbestos on the Tattershall Castle boat as part of a major refit. The former steamship has now been refurbished and turned into a nightclub and function room. Over the last 5 years Arco have worked on several European Marine contracts including Lloydwerft Shipyard in Germany, Bremerhaven Blom & Vos Shipyard in Hamburg and Cadiz Shipyards in Spain. Q: What types of Surveys can be carried out to determine the presence of asbestos in a building?

A: There are 3 different types of asbestos survey. Type 1 - Location and Assessment Survey (Presumptive Survey). Type 2 - Standard Sampling, Identification and Assessment Survey (Sampling Survey). Type 3 - Full Access Sampling & Identification Survey (Pre-demolition / Major Refurbishment Surveys).
