Arco have recently completed a £230,000 contract working for Balfour Beatty in the city of London. Work commenced in December 2007 and finished in December 2008 over several phases.
Due to site restrictions and the nature of the work, Arco had to re-organise their contract to work out of hours in order to maintain the strict programme and provide other trades with uninterrupted site access during normal hours. |
Works involved the removal of asbestos cement panels shuttered between structural beams and the removal of over 1600m² of asbestos based bitumen floor coverings.
Works were carried out over ten phases throughout the six storey building, with floor coverings removed using dustless blasting methods.
Enclosures with extraction equipment were erected to contain the blasting agreagate and regular re-assurance air tests were carried out by an Independent UKAS accredited laboratory, results all < 0.01 fibres/ml.
